1. Project Overview
This international collaboration connects youth from the United States (CompassPoint Mentorship) and Uganda (African Peace Murals) to co-design and co-create a shared public art piece. Moving beyond traditional "pen-pal" models, this project utilizes Adobe Express to facilitate real-time and asynchronous digital design, culminating in a physical, rollable fabric mural.
Core Goals:
Global Stewardship: Framing climate change through Hope Jahren’s The Story of More, moving from abstract data to personal "lived experience."
Creative Equity: Providing Ugandan students with digital literacy training while ensuring their artistic voice is not overshadowed by US resources.
Youth Leadership: Facilitating a student-led design process where adults act as "guardrails," not dictates.
Public Exhibition: A physical mural with panels exhibited in both countries to spark community dialogue on sustainability.
